Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation (KKAC) is seeking a motivated and experienced Ranger Coordinator to lead, support and inspire our Rangers in their operations across the Region.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with our Rangers, Traditional Owners, government agencies, training providers and community partners to deliver meaningful conservation, cultural heritage and land management outcomes across the KKAC Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) area.
As Ranger Coordinator, you will be expected to regularly work alongside Rangers in the field, providing on-ground supervision, mentoring, training and practical support while monitoring the quality and safety of works being undertaken.

About the Role
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Ranger Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day coordination of the Ranger Program, leading the operational delivery of projects and activities.
A key focus of this role is operationalising and implementing annual work plans, ensuring projects are delivered safely, effectively and on schedule. You will coordinate Ranger teams across both the Vasse and Manjimup Ranger depots, supporting efficient resource allocation, workforce planning and program delivery throughout the KKAC ILUA area. You will be required to participate and oversee all fieldwork undertaken as part of the program.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, mentor and support Rangers in the delivery of land management, conservation and cultural heritage activities.
Coordinate Ranger teams operating from the Vasse and Manjimup locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Develop, operationalise and implement work plans, ensuring project milestones, schedules and deliverables are achieved.
Coordinate operational requirements, rosters and field activities needed to efficiently deliver Ranger work plans, including participation in fieldwork to monitor progress, quality and safety outcomes.
Facilitate and support Ranger training and development, including higher education where identified.
Build and maintain productive relationships with government agencies, non-government organisations, contractors and community stakeholders.
Ensure project reporting, data collection and program records are accurately maintained within Karri Karrak Information Management Systems (KKIMS).
Monitor project budgets and contribute to grant reporting and acquittal requirements, as required.
Promote, implement and monitor compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures and practices, ensuring safe systems of work are maintained and recorded across ranger operations.
Lead by example in creating a strong safety culture and ensuring Rangers are equipped, trained and supported to work safely in the field. On the ground engagement will see you working alongside teams in the field to deliver land management, conservation and cultural heritage activities.
Assist with procurement and management of vehicles, equipment and field resources.

This position involves regular and physical outdoor field work. Work which may include early starts, overnight stays, extended field operations and work in varying weather conditions.

Essential Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
Experience leading, supervising and mentoring teams in a field-based or operational environment through direct on-ground engagement and supervision.
Proven experience coordinating field operations, project delivery, work programs, workforce scheduling and reporting.
Experience implementing operational plans and managing multiple projects across diverse work environments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Competent written communication and computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications, databases, GIS systems and field data collection tools.
Experience managing budgets, grants, acquittals and project reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety principles and practices.
A current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence.

Desirable Criteria
Experience in terrestrial, freshwater and/or marine conservation and land management.
Experience procuring, operating and maintaining plant and equipment.
Current WA Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's Licence.
