Working together on Boodja (Country)

A clear, respectful pathway for development
on Noongar Country.

Who we are

Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation is the Regional Corporation for the South West Boojarah area, established under the South West Native Title Settlement.

We represent the Wardandi, Piblemen, and Kaneang people and work to protect their rights and interests while supporting collaboration with developers.

Our role in the approvals process

We’ve developed a simple guide to help developers and community members understand what’s needed to undertake activities on Boodja (Country).

As the State-appointed cultural authority, approved by consensus of all Noongar people our role includes:

  • Granting free, prior and informed consent on behalf of our people.

  • Supporting timely and transparent project approvals.

  • Upholding strong community governance via our elected Board and Cultural Advice Committee (CAC).

Why engage early?

Early engagement with Karri Karrak helps you:

  • Avoid delays from unauthorised consultation with non-representative entities

  • Protect your project's reputation within the Noongar community

  • Prevent public opposition due to lack of proper engagement

Monthly meetings = Regular opportunities

With monthly decision-making cycles, your project can stay on track—provided you engage with us early in your planning phase.
